Marco Melandri will race for Hayate racing in 2009 Italian MotoGP rider Marco Melandri will contest the 2009 season as a Hayate Racing rider in a one-rider, one year deal.
Marco Melandri did have a two-year contract with Kawasaki but it has been torn up and a new agreement hastily arranged in
time for the beginning of the season, Melandri will now ride a Ninja ZX-RR with no further factory development. Melandri
had experienced two challenging seasons with Ducati and Honda. The Italian is known to be brutally honest and vocal
about any issues, great interest will be on how he reacts to a factory bike with which he does not expect to be pushing for
the podium.
