For just second time this year, Casey Stoner is off the stage with an unpleasing fourth place at the Red Bull U.S. Grand
Prix. The Aussie’s meausurement of these three days is ‘one to forget,’ with all the weariness associated
of the last two races, he now has less points on the board.
“I can’t be happy with fourth place,
even though I know that we have performed some damage limitation in terms of the overall standings. It’s a weekend to
forget,” said Stoner.
“Today I didn’t feel as bad at the end of the race as I have done
in the last two, but I’m still not right,” he stated in relation to his physical condition he has endured over
the past month. The exchaustion has also brought with it the comeback of a prior issue in his scaphoid.
“I
found it really difficult to keep my concentration over the last few laps and I was in a bit of a daze by the end. My left
arm was feeling really tired by the end because of the fact there are so many left-handers here and my left wrist still doesn’t
have the full range of movement after my operation in the winter,” he mentioned. “Now we’ll focus on trying
to find out the root of the problem because racing in this condition is not much fun.”
Casey Stoner
will now continue on in the US for wide spread examinations at the Fremont Surgery Center to overcome the problem.
